Matt Henriksen named SAC Baseball Player of the Week

GREENEVILLE, Tenn. --- Tusculum College second baseman Matt Henriksen has been named the South Atlantic Conference Baseball Player of the Week announced league officials Tuesday. He earns this honor for the first time this season and third time in his career.
Henriksen, a 6-2, 205-pound junior from Hingham, Mass., batted .600 with four doubles and three RBI to lead the Pioneers to a 4-0 record including a three-game sweep at defending Food Lion SAC Tournament Champion Wingate.
Henriksen went 9-for-15 with nine runs scored. He opened the week with a perfect 3-for-3 performance in TC's 9-3 home win over Shepherd.
He followed with a 3-for-4 effort in a 9-2 win over Wingate in the conference opener for both teams. In game two of the series, he went 2-for-4 with four runs scored in TC's 16-12 victory over the Bulldogs. He closed out the series with a double and two runs scored.
Henriksen finished the week with a .867 slugging percentage and a .700 on-base percentage.
Tusculum is off to its best start in program history at 11-0 following Tuesday's 4-2 victory against Limestone and is the only undefeated team left in the NCAA II Southeast Region.
